Re: [PAF] Entering 2001
VERY interesting.
I tried entering a death date of 2001 in a small PAF 2.2 database.
Program accepted it peacefully with NO error message. Closed the database,
exit to DOS, reopen PAF and the database. Date is there. Closed PAF,
doing the frchk as I did so. Error report mentioned RIN 4, invalid death
date: 2001. Suggested I run frchk-f. I figured it would do what it did
for Leslie, so I didn't do that, just went in and manually deleted the
deathdate and the note that flagged it as a test.
Interesting that the programmers in 198x got the date of the new
millenium right, ignored the Y2K issue, and STILL managed to booby-trap
the program.
However, so far as I can tell, so long as you don't run FRchk-f, you're
OK. (g) And if you DO have to run it for some reason, make the printout
so you can re-enter the 2001 dates.
Very wierd.
