[PAF] Which PAF for Dos-only laptop?
I've recently acquired an old laptop, which I'm calling the
"Way-back machine", for 2 reasons - it's about 10 years old;
and I hope to use it as my portable research laptop, so I can
have my databases with me when I visit the FHC, and so on.
I don't think it'll run Windows, or if it would, it would be
unacceptably slow. What's the newest version of PAF that I can
run in DOS, and (the tough question) how do I get a copy?
I use PAF 4.04 for my normal work, but as long as I can make
a GEDCOM that it'll understand (if the .paf format isn't
backwards-portable), that'll be fine. I don't plan to do any
updates on that machine, it'll just be a "Here's a list of what
and who and when I have".
Thanks for any advice,
Dave Hinz
