[PAF] PAF 4.0

Dear PAF Users,

I was one of you, until I went on vacation for the month of July 1999,
at which time I unsubscribed. When I returned I couldn't find my
instructions to subscribe, so I sent a note to Ed Rogers at
<edrogers@bigfoot.com> and never got a reply? I won't go into what
happened in the intervening months, but HERE I AM!!

I'd like some opinions regarding PAF 4.0? Everyone I talked to says it
is much better than 3.0?? I understand I can download it from the
internet? But I was told that it will delete my present PAF 2.31, is
that true?? I never did like 3.0, except for the "Companion". So stayed
with 2.31, which I dearly love.....

I've just met a Cousin via e-mail who has 4.0, and would like to share
my data with her. Since my GEDCOM is too large to fit on a disk, I would
like to send her back-ups of my Family file in 2.31. However, if I
remember correctly, 3.0 would not read back-ups of 2.31, so I figured
4.0 won't read them either? One good thing about 3.0, is that it would
convert your 2.31 files that were on your hard drive to 3.0. Does 4.0
work the same way??

Would someone please help me with this dilemma. Since I'm not on the PAF
list, please reply too:
