I too have a HP 722 printer. I must have had the right drivers and
codes because mine would print using the HP deskjet selection when I
configured. However, my computer crashed recently and after getting
everything going again my PAF 3 wouldn't print. When I called
support, after going thru all the other things, the fellow read me
some things that had worked for others. One worked for me.
Select C for Continuous feed and HP Laser Jet II. It worked! You
might try it too.
Good Luck, Alice Harris

Subject: [PAF] Canadian 1911 Census Release
Pass this along to as many people as possible!!!!!
ps; Does anyone know how to find addresses for MP's????
The following from an article by Rick Roberts in 'The Global Gazette', May
15, 1998. This Gazette is Canada'a Genealogy & Heritage On-Line
Newsletter.
"Have you ever used the 1871, 1881, 1891 or 1901 census records in your
quest to find ancestors in various parts of Canada? Statistics Canada has
decided that the 1901 census is the LAST one which will be made public.
The 1911 census, which normally would have been released to the public in
2003, WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE TO RESEARCHERS. This same ruling applies to
all subsequent records held by Statistics Canada.
This issue has been the subject of much recent dialogue between officials
of the National Archives and Statistics Canada. What normally would
happen, is that the 1911 census records would be microfilmed and
transferred to the National Archives of Canada, held by them until the
expiration of 92 years following the census year (2003) and then released
to the public. The 92 year rule was established by the government in the
regulation made persuent to the Privacy Act. It permits the release od
census records but only after they have been deposited in the National
Archives. It was on this basis that the 1891 and 1901 census records were
released to the public.
Although the reasons are unclear, Statistics Canada's stand on this issue
may be partly due to a belief that a guarantee of confidentiality (even
beyond 92 years) will nake it easier to ensure co-operation during future
population enumerations. The office of the Privacy Commission was actually
pressing to have the 1911 census records destroyed! Fortunatly the
National Archivist refused to grant Statistics Canada its necessary
approval. Not to be outdone in its efforts to maintain the total secrecy
over the records, Statistics Canada has simply decided not to transfer its
records to the custody and control of the National Archives. By so doing,
the department has circumvented the 92 year rule prescribed by the
Regulations made persuent to the Privacy Act.
Be assured, there is nothing, absolutly nothing, different in the type of
information contained in the 1911 census from that shown in the 1891 and
1901 records which we have all seen. Granted, the rules under which the
1911 census were taken may have differed, but the basic information covered
is identical. So where is the invasion of privacynwhich is of so much
concern?
This decision has outraged the archival community, genealogists and our
historians, but to no avail. The 1911 census and all future census records
will remain closed . . . . unless . . .
What can you do? "
>From the above it can easily be seen that some strong action is required.

If you are living in Canada write your member of parliment as well.
If you are connected to historical societies or other genealogical groups,
pass the above information on to them and urge them to respond as well.
My unborn great great grandchildren thank you in advance for your support
in putting Canadian politicians and beaurocrats in their place before the
end of this century. If what they propose/are doing can happen here, it
can happen anywhere.
