Subject: [PAF] from 3.0 to 2.31

I would like to transfer records from 3.0 to 2.31. No source data is included,
just data and notes. What is the best way? Will I lose anything?
Thanks,
Brenda

Create a Gedcom by pressing x for export and choose create a Gedcom for PAF
2.31
You should be OK with the data unless you have entered diacritics or have
entered
very long names in the name fields.

To transfer information from Paf 3.0 to 2.31 go to Export and make a
file to share (gedcom) and it will ask you wfor the destination you
want to send it to. Tell it 2.2-2.31.

When you add a gedcom to 2.31 you won't loose your sources they will
be added to the notes since 2.31 doesn't have sources fields. The
only things you might loose would be the new added features of 3.0
like diacritics and long names that are longer than the 2.31 fields.

When I had trouble with my sources tying up my data Support had me
gedcom my 3.0 file to 2.31 and it worked just fine.

 Alice;
I have (cautiously) added a number of sources to several of my PAF 3.0
databases. I have not experienced any trouble in making a GEDCOM version
5.5 file from any of them. Can you tell me exactly what it was in your
sources which caused the trouble? If you can do so I would appreciate it
very much.
                     Thank you,
                                  Richard L. Halliday
