How can I find and access some small, old data bases that I put in PAF 2.31
four years ago? I forget now how to get to them. Thanks.

If you are using PAF 3.0, at the "Select File to Open" screen, select
"Update" and PAF will find them for you and display them on the list.
If you are using PAF 2.31, go to the DOS prompt and enter, after C:\>,
dir indiv2.dat /s /p
and press enter.
This will find all 2.x PAF databases and will show you what directory or
directories they are in. The /p causes it to stop scrolling and you can
then see one screen at a time and can write down the information you need.
If you have more than just a few, you could print the list by adding to the
above command a space and >prn
If you found the files in C:\PAF\JONES, for example, then to access them,
type at C:\PAF>
fr jones
and press Enter.
If they were in C:\green, then type
fr C:\green
because green is not a subdirectory of C:\PAF.
You also could just start PAF 2.31 the normal way and at the Pedigree
Search screen, press Y3. Then change the Drive for Data Disk to where ever
the files are.
Good luck,
Joan Lowrey
