Subject: PAF: Re. RDF.

Hi! there Thomas,

I saw your message re. RDF.

If the person who you were in contact with said you were the only person
to use it they were wrong.

I used it up to V2.31 and it held my sources.

A problem I still haven't sorted out in V3.0M.

I as yet haven't entered my sources as I used the 'Notes' to list a
brief entry such as
<! Birth Cert. in Poss. of Frederick Ian MacKay, with my address, or the
person who had a copy.>

I dittoed the same for the other info.

In RDF I entered the data and if I required more space I added an Alpha
etc. number until I had all the data entered, thus keeping all my source
info. all together for all the events.

By the way in this last issue of The PAF Central Users Group newsletter
here in the U.K. they had an article on using RDF together with Excel.

I haven't as yet read it fully so I am unable to review it for you.

Best wishes,

Fred MacKay.

Subject: PAF: 3.0's GEDCOM capabilities

Someone please refresh my memory. I remember there being a
discussion on PAF 3.0's GEDCOM capabilities but old age is creeping
up on me and I forgot exactly what was said about it. I'm getting
ready to convert a 2.31 file into 3.0. I think I remember someone
saying that 3.0 worked better at uploading GEDCOM files than it did
with converting the 2.31 files directly. Is this the way I should
go, or not? I'm fixing to leave work now so if you reply to me,
please do it at my home, oviattj@juno.com. Otherwise, I'll get your
email in the morning. Chow!
