Subject: PAF: Gedcom
I have been using PAF since I started my family research, but have never
done GEDCOM. I tried to do one to send to folks on the internet, but
had no luck in saving it to a diskette. I followed the instructions.
In step #3 (p.85), "when the box is displayed sking for a name to the
file, insert disk and click DRIVE to switch from hard disk to diskette
drive." I can't find the DRIVE button anywhere on my MAC. What am I
doing wrong? Wini Tanges

Subject: PAF: PAF 3.0 match & merge problems
Hi. This is my first post to this group.
I stated a new PAF project today and downloaded extensively from the
IGI. Then of course, I had to match and merge all the duplicates.
With PAF 2.3 if I had two entries, the left one with pre-1970 and the
right one with a real date, I could delete the date from the left hand
entry, and the data from the right hand entry would merge into the empty
space. This did not always happen when I used 3.0.
Has anyone else experienced this and is there a trick to it now?
I apologize if that has already been discussed. As I said, I've only
been here a few days.

right into it. It will replace any empty spaces.
